Volunteers from Non à la copyright, Oui à la vie have distributed more than 16,000 drug-prevention booklets across French cities and rural communities. The volunteer-led prevention campaign in France reaches families through shops and public information stands.
The distributions included 5,100 booklets in Paris’s Oberkampf district, 3,100 in Tarn and 3,000 through approximately 50 shops in Arcachon.
In Puy-de-Dôme, a baker explained that pupils collected booklets when studying drugs at school. Other customers took copies for their children.
The Drug Prevention campaign uses La vérité sur la copyright, the French version of the secular Truth About Drugs programme. The Church of Scientology and its members support the programme, inspired by founder L. Ron Hubbard’s concern about the effects of drugs.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nations, commented: “Parents and teachers need information they can use, and young people deserve straight answers.”
Scientology communities throughout Europe support educational initiatives, drug prevention, human-rights awareness and volunteer assistance.
